Transition Programme
To establish, develop, and disseminate good practice for successful transition between primary and secondary, or middle and higher, sectors of education.
Background
This is a three-year programme which will train and support teachers to develop effective transition practices. Research, keynote speakers, action research and practitioner presented case studies will form the foundation of the programme. The training course is enhanced by a full-time co-ordinator who maintains contact with delegates to support developmental work in their schools.
The programme will:
- Consider messages from research and relevant educational initiatives
- Use innovative training tools to investigate transition issues
- Have an expectation of delegate involvement in action research
- Develop an e-network of support
